SOLD--2 Blue "Steal Me" Martin dred cases
Emphasis here is on BLUE. Most similar cases from the 70's have faded with time, and are now more Grey than Blue. Not these. One is actually brighter and newer-looking than the other, though it is hard to tell from the photos. I want to sell one of these, so after the first one is sold, i will close this ad, and keep the other. Shipping is a flat $30 CONUS for either case.
First, the NEWER one ($300)...the blue is close to original, and the latches still clean, mostly bright silver: Here's the second one ($275)...almost as new as the first one--latches dulled somewhat:

Memories indeed!
Let's call this a bump. I met an old guy in about 1985, back when I was doing a weekend solo act at local festivals and fairs. He really liked what I was doing, and he and his wife followed me from fair to fair. He told me about his Martin and how he was "a player back in the day." One day, while working (brown truck, packages) I happened to show up at his house. I decided it was lunch time when he pulled a D28 out of a case just like these. He said his original case had "pretty much come apart", so he bought the blue one to protect his old guitar. He told me through tears how he couldn't play anymore and wanted me to have it. I never knew how old it was, but it had been played, a lot! I couldn't believe what I was hearing, and thought it best to give him a day or two to think about it, but he was adamant about gifting his guitar to me. A few days later I stopped by, and he told me..again through tears.. that his wife was so upset that I had upset him, that she took guitar down to a pawn shop and sold it. Didn't mean to high jack your post here, but let's call this a courtesy bump. Last edited by woodbox; 11-03-2019 at 01:24 PM. |
