Al Di Meola Plays FURCH!
Ok, maybe it's not so much of a big deal as say John Mayer dumping Fender for PRS, but Al has been playing Ovations since the year dot...and that's a long time!
I presume they are great guitars, and they're now available in the U.S (for the first time?)

Furch guitars have been available for several years in the US under the name "Stonebridge" - they were rebranded, as I understand it, because it was thought that the name "Furch" would not appeal to a US audience. They are still somewhat hard to find, at least where I live, but their presence is increasing.

The comment in the vid that says “now available in the USA” is not accurate, but I guess that’s part of their new marketing campaign. I’ve been playing Furch since around 2010. I found them in a small little shop while passing through NC. Stonebridge guitars international were the original importers and distributors of Furch. They are no longer in the pic, but they laid the ground work for Furch in the US and Canada. Here is their story https://www.stonebridgeguitars.com/our-story/

Great to see he has got himself a decent steel strung at last

They had a booth at the Fort Worth Guitar Show recently where I snapped this picture:

It's kinda like a relaunch. They were acting as a high boutique manufacturer, but now they are trying to go downmarket and mass-market a bit more and trying to be a European Taylor type thing.

Al could mesmerize me with any guitar he picks up. No disrespect to Furch at all.
