AS50D here - nice amp that I have used many times with a full (electric) band and it had no issues with being heard or sounding good.

The handle on my AS100D has 'decayed' - without much use (I hardly ever pick it up, it sits at home).

Most grateful for any ideas as to a replacement handle? The screw positions seem to be unlike electric amp / cab handles...

I have the AS50R...it has a spring reverb that sucks. Unless of course you like spring reverbs. I ended up getting the Fender SFX Pro which cost a lot more ($899), but I have now found an amp that I am truly happy with and will be for a long time. My Marshal AS50R sits there collecting dust now. It sounds good, but the reverb in the Fender blows it away.

I love the dead thread revivals so I can see if I still agree with what I posted in them. (Now back to the Batcave. )

I used one for about 5 years. It is a good, solid amp. It does color the acoustic sound a little...I had an early one with a plastic tweeter. There is no mid control.

I've got an AS50D. I like it. For the money ($400) it's a very good buy. I'm thinking of getting another one for stereo and ping pong fx. Sound is subjective. I've known people to rave about a guitar, an amp or whatever. But then sometimes when I hear them I think to myself, eh, it's not as great sounding (to me) as they made it out to be. Not the holy grail (nothing is).

Is the AS100D overkill for home use? Can the volume be controlled?

Can the AS100D be used in a home setting at lower volumes and still sound great?
