Default Has anyone used the Peterson TP-3 clip on pickup?

I have a Strobostomp HD to use with it. This seems like a good option for non-pickup equipped guitars. I wonder if it might work with other tuners as well.

Thoughts?

Never seen one. Where do you "clip" it?

Like it's a headstock tuner. Except the display is on the pedal.

My thought is, “Why carry around a clip with a long cable, and a large, heavy floor-pedal tuner, when you can get the same results from a tiny, extremely light headstock tuner like the StroboClip HD?”.

definitely makes you look like you're serious about tuning.

Hi H!I-a-R

I own one, and it only works on tuners with a ¼" input - like pedal tuners. I own a couple pedal tuners too, but they are not as convenient as my clip-on-the-headstock tuners

Clip on tuners work on guitars without pickups, and are quick and simple, and you can carry them in the pick drawer of the case.

I already have the Strobostomp HD and this is a $11 compared to $70.

I have 3 headstock tuners. The Peterson has a better display.

Yes, it will work with any tuner with a 1/4" input. I've used my Korg CA series tuners many times with the Peterson clip in the past, as well as with my Peterson VS2 strobe tuner.

The reason was that the Korg had an easier to read and more accurate display than many of the other "portable" tuners and my use pre-dated the glut of tiny clip on tuners. Now there's a bunch of clip ons that work fine (I have several...) so I don't normally use my clip any longer.

Another reason to use the accessory clip is that for some of us that have visual impairment a tuner like the Korg CA-50 can be positioned in a much easier to see orientation.

Un-related to tuning, I've actually used the Clip with a couple of instruments to amplify them. Mibira was one use, although I don't remember if I clipped it on the instrument or the calabash it was housed in.
