That's so cool. I skipped forward to the part where Paul played Hendrix's Monterey Strat. He was invited by the owner to play it.

For those who don't know, Paul Davids has a guitar YouTube channel with 2.6M subscribers. Great player and teacher.

Thanks for sharing! I'm currently reading "The Grail Guitar" about the Telecaster Hendrix allegedly used to record "Purple Haze." Lots of history about later 60's London music scene.

The Strat in the video is a part of history.

A lot of discussion else where that says that this is NOT a Hendrix strat.
Check out TGP, some pretty convincing information.

Yeah, I saw this posted on YT but skipped it. Partly because Davids' videos don't usually interest me much but mostly because of the absurd $10,000,000 figure in the title: that's worse click-bait than the goofy facial expressions that have become de riguer. Even the Woodstock Strat, sold in '93 to Paul Allen, is unlikely to have broken $500K. Even Clapton's Blackie didn't crack a million at auction. And as pointed out above, this is almost certainly not even the Strat it's purported to be.

No reason to believe Davids is duplicitous, just not very skeptical. Although it does look like the $10,000,000 has been edited out of the title.

I don’t believe that is Jimi Hendrix’s guitar. Maybe just a fun video to attract viewers to get to know that youtubber guitar instructor(who really is terrific BTW)

There is no way in the world a guitar with that provenance would ever be tampered with and have the strings reverted to right hand playing order. NEVER!

The scars on the back don’t match, aren’t even close honestly, to the historic footage of Jimi using that guitar either. I think it was just done for fun.

You were right. That guitar is now being called into question, not just by Paul Davids but others who watched the video stating it doesn't visually match up to the original.

It doesn't seem the video was done to intentionally fool anyone though. I wonder if Davids was fooled? Perhaps it will come out. I hope it was just a farce to gain subscribers and to promote the store. If so, I'll be unsubscribing to Davids' YouTube channel.

I think Hendrix showed us how much he thought his old guitars are really worth....with lighter fluid.

Tons of his videos, and Rick Beato's too, have click-bait
"5 things you should do to ..." , "10 best blah blah blah",
kinds of titles. I sure like most of their videos I watch, though. I
think Paul David's videos are particularly fun, besides
being instructive, because of his silliness...
