I just got a new Rainsong 12-string guitar so I'm binge listening and binge playing Gordon Lightfoot....

Okay, I admit it - Mrs. Tinnitus and I record The Voice and American Idol to watch at our leisure without commercials. Retired from my non-musical careers and dabbling as a garage/bar cover band guitarist for half a century, I'm fascinated by hopefuls getting out there and trying... anything. With that said, we're both bored silly by guys who emote insipid, breathy pop algorithms in girlie falsetto. So it was cool the other night to hear this haunting number with sparse instrumentation and an actual man voice. It's not a happy song, but no rule says it has to be. I hope this singer wins the show, or at least has himself a career in music. It's always refreshing, too, to see performers pause for a moment and acknowledge the excellent bands on both shows.

What am I listening to this week? More of the original artist, Kolton Moore and the Clever Few.

Have had this song playing in my head for a few days after hearing it on Bob Dylan’s Theme Tome Radio Hour. What a songwriter Gauthier is, brings to mind the great John Prine.

Kerbie, wow, I don't think I've heard that song since the early 80s when it was a hit. I can still hear the chorus in my head now - just those 3 words. Not going to listen to it now because I don't want that nostalgia

Been listening to Andreas house concerts lately....hadn't heard him since the 80's and stumbled upon these shows: Love the cello and harp together!
