Default 1997 TAYLOR 712 - last bump

Another great guitar from Taylor's Golden Era.

1997 Taylor 712

Absolutely beautiful, easy playing, great sounding 712.

OHSC. One ding on the lower bout, otherwise just a few signs of normal playing.

Price $1,995 including PP and shipping. No trades please.

Smile Sweet!

If you haven’t played a pre 2000 Taylor it is difficult to wrap your head around how different from any of the newer NT neck models this will be.

Taylors really were much closer to a boutique build back then. Considerably more hand work, and post 2000 they beefed up every part just a bit, to reduce warranty repairs!

This will be a sweetheart. And Rob is an outstanding AGFer and nice guy too!

The only caveat, would be the slim neck. This will have what Taylor now calls a slim carve. So if you like an “electric” neck like I do, I expect this will be a great fit!

I hope this is helpful.

Happy holidays to all!

Paul

Hi Paul:
Thanks for the perspective on this great guitar and for your kind words. It is hard letting go of these older Taylors, but it is time for me to wind down my collection.

Best way to tell for sure is to call/email Taylor with the serial #. They respond pretty quickly with the specs.

It's a beauty btw.

Almost certainly Sitka spruce and a beautiful example at that. I have owned and played a number of these 90s grand concert models and they have all been consistently excellent in every way! GLWTS...
