As my Aunt Jiji used to say when referring to the extraordinary, "Good Heavenly Days!"

What a gorgeously stunning guitar. I hope we get to hear a sample when it's completed.

Dustin Furlow will be demoing the guitar at the B.I.G. show. If you can't be there to see it in person I believe I'll have a recording of that demo.

Thanks!

Really pretty Mark.
I often wonder about finishing over three dimensional objects like that medallion. That must present unique challenges.

Yes it does add an additional step. I am masking their position on the top and finishing them separately and applying them after the finish is on the top. For the pictures the medallion is just temporarily taped.

I have both the Bloodwood and the Sapele 0000s ready for finish now. Here are a couple shots of the Red, White and Blue one:

I have a curly Hard Maple neck with an Amboyna burl center strip. I am also trying a new 2 way torsion rod. This is an all titanium rod which is about half the weight of my stand rods:

Here is the last picture of the plain Jane dry woods before they are set afire with finish:

Another stunner!
If the 1st combo like this is any indication this will look fabulous under finish and really bring the woods to life.
Also that 3D cabochon looks very classy to me - a exceptionally well rounded combo!
My taste of course...and no, I won't want to buy it

Hey, Mark, as usual, your work looks like it manifests from a higher order of Being than three-dimensional Earth. I bet you and Gandalf the Wizard were boyhood pals three thousand years ago. I bet you got some of your wood stash from Tom Bombadil.
It will be very inspiring to stand in your shadow at the B.I.G.

You are too modest, Steve. My brief acquaintance with your guitars makes me think that your work can stand up with the best in both sound and aesthetics. Mark does have a nose for finding some magical wood though, doesn't he? And how he combines them is a bit like sorcery - I guess I find your analogy apt!

Yeah, Tom Bombadil has been a great supplier except things took a bad turn when I asked if he had any master grade Ent.
I look forward to meeting you in person at BIG, Steve!

Thank you Nemoman. I'm just glad to have them moving along soon enough to avoid the show date countdown rush!

Thanks Mike. I think that Bloodwood guitar would be right up your ally.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Mark...
You do have quite the eye for bringing together colors and visual texture into a form that is not only pleasing to look at, but which also evokes an emotional response without a note even being played. I’ve enjoyed looking at your work for quite some time now, and am looking forward to meeting you and seeing your guitars in person this September at BIG(ger).
