I don't even know what Bridge Beads are. Although I'm now very curious to find out!

http://www.bridgebonebeads.com/

I've been using them on my Hill Fingerstyle for some time. I'm not sure whether they change the tone but they do make it easier to string

Default Bridge Beads? More info please.

Bridge beads sound like a great idea. I saw them in a photo once. Could you use beads from a craft or hobby store? Would wood work vs. ceramic or plastic?. What is the best knot to use?

Thanks,
Phil

I'm with royd here. I have on my classicals, they are easier to string.

If you look at them on the vendor's site Phil, you'll see the beads have 1 lengthwise hole and then two from side to side. If you had the means to drill the additional holes, then I think any beads large enough to accommodate the above would work. Again, look at the photos to see the way the knot is formed on the bead.

One warning for using them... a high E broke on me one day sending the bridge bead into the top of the guitar and making a ding almost the same size and shape as the bead.

I like the high tension beaded nylon (folk) string sets. They sound good, feel good, and they are inexpensive. However, I'm finding beaded trebles tend to slip out of the bead or break. From now on, I will be tying the beaded trebles like I would any nylon set. The beaded bass strings seem to be fine and can be strung up as intended.
