Default Gibson L-30

Any info or opinions on the Gibson L30 circa 1936?

There’s one for sale near me. It’s apparently 14” and looks like the archtop version of a 00,

Question

I know nothing about that guitar but that sounds like a very interesting piece of gear. I imagine it would be very comfortable to sit and hold at that size.

Gibson's answer to the mid-30's Epiphone Olympic - pull out your best David Rawlings licks here...

So, it's like that, eh?

Not exactly what my "ideal" would be, but still worth an audition.

Default Done

I was really looking for a 16", but once I got my mitts on the L-30, there was no going back. It's just so - neat! 14 3/4" lower bout, flat back. Sort of like the archtop grandpa of the Waterloo WL14 that I owned.

That’s a great looking guitar. I bet it plays well and I like it more than a typical sunburst. It’s a flat back? Interesting.
