Default Rainsong Parlor Hard Case

Thinking about this again...

So, who has bought an aftermarket hard case for their Rainsong Parlor?

Guardian has a couple, but they might be a bit deep?

For bottom dollar the Gator GWE-Acou-3/4 case just barely fits (which is nice since it also the smallest option for carrying on a plane). MF has a 15% off sale right now. Here is a pic:

The TKL parlor case is a perfect snug fit for the 12 fret RainSong parlor, though there is no endpin accommodation in the padding and you have to angle the guitar to get it in the case. The TKL just oozes quality that the Gator has not got and that is my current case. I got mine at 8th St Music which has a constantly running 15% off sale but no free shipping on guitar cases. I live nearby so the shipping was cheap.

The RainSong official case is an Access Stage 3 Parlor case also carried by Elderly. It is long enough to accomodate a 14 fret Parlor with margin and it is very deeply padded. A larger one came with my CH-WS and while it is a high quality case, it is quite bulky.

One last comment, MF buys their cases in bulk packaging to support their bottom dollar (when on sale) pricing with no shipping charge. They repackage the cases in their really crummy boxes that are only suitable for double boxing. I've bought a few cases from them and all of them arrived with minor shipping damage.

Thanks Jon, that could well be the way to go. Plus I have around $30 in MF "points" from last November when they had the Alvarez Baritone on the SDOTD.

My Shorty shipped with a TKL case. My WS3000 came with a TKL case but both Ted (LA Guitar Sales) and Dave (Rainsong cust service) have confirmed that they are now using Access Stage 3.

I have an Access for my X10-OSN, and I'm very happy with it. I like that Access offers various levels and sizes. I would have purchased an Access for my new X7 electric but the Emerald bag turned out to be exceptionally nice and a keeper.

So...

Little known fact, but apparently MF Backstage pass points expire in 180 days. Mine expired 2 days before I went to order a case.

Talked them into restoring the points, but not into giving me the 15% coupon. Fair enough, I had $33 in points and 15% of $85 is only $12.75.

Case arrived today. As others have said, it's tight, but it does fit. I might put the Larrivee in the new case and the Rainsong in the TKL I bought for the Larrivee.

For travel, I'd definitely use the new Gator case since it's smaller and has an arched lid for added protection.
