Default Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Instrumental)

Apologies to Glen Willow for posting this so soon after his marvellous recording with his grand daughter. I started this a couple of weeks ago after I wasn't happy an arrangement I was trying to learn. I wanted to create something that flowed and was interesting rhythmically.

The section I found hardest to get right was creating an original introduction. At first it was similar to the little interludes, but felt there was too much repetition. A couple of days letting the arrangement brew led to the introduction you hear here.

It is in CGDGAD, a tuning I am finding utterly glorious at the moment. I think my arrangement is very much in the style of El McMeen, perhaps the most famous exponent of that tuning.

Sorry for the typo in the opening credits. Thanks for listening,

Robbie

Hi Robbie,

Wow, that is really well done! What a fascinating arrangement and what a beautiful sound from you and your guitar! I love the mixture of the harmonics in there, too!

Thank you- it is a lovely tuning, a little more interesting than dadgad I find. I am still exploring the tuning, making arrangements is a great way of doing so.

Thank you Basil, I am pleased you felt the arrangement flowed as that was my main aim- I wanted to create something that had the flow of Eva Cassidy's superb version.
