SOLD! Webber 000 Slothead Cedar/Quilted Maple (2002)
I recently acquired this Webber 000 in a trade with another forum member and am offering it up to the next home. It is an incredible instrument and I am glad I took a shot at trying it out! This guitar is incredibly well-built, no detail was overlooked. Light and resonate, articulate and punchy. David Webber is now retired and, as I am now aware, has a loyal following. Someone will love this one for its striking looks and incredible tone and playability!
SOLD! Webber Slothead 000 with tightly grained Western Red Cedar top over Quilted Maple sides & back. Includes original six-latch case, original case key still in plastic included. Freshly strung with Thomastik strings. Condition: The top has a few very tiny marks (I tried to picture the most noticeable) and a clear pick guard with playing marks on it. There is one tiny ding near the middle of the back (I tried to get a photo of it but it's virtually undetectable through the mesmerizing maple grain). The first few frets have some very faint marks under the treble strings. There was a K&K installed at some point as there are minor evidences inside the guitar. Nice one. I remember a quote from him to the effect of “ cedar and maple get along well in my shop.” I had his first OM in Sitka and maple…..one of the best!
Someone will have their expectations exceeded with this one.

This is exactly the guitar I pined for after seeing this vid of the 00 version in cedar/maple, by the inimitable Eric Bibb. I wanted me one of them "spank guitars," and I looked for over a year. With no cedar over maples available, I bought a used Webber 00 - spruce over KOA.
It has exceeded my expectations. At the risk of name-dropping, I have guitars by Fairbanks, Froggy, Martin, Huss and Dalton, and Merrill. And have owned a Bourgeois and Larrivee. The Webber easily belongs in that crowd (though it is far more satisfying than the Larrivee for me). David Webber's guitars are a unique bargain, but offer no compromise. This one looks to be a gem. That back is like the maple version of The Tree. David https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVFR...BluedogGuitars
