Default NGD: Martin D-16GT

I got this for a price I just couldn't pass up. It's a 2004 in really nice condition apart from a small cleated side crack, which doesn't bother me. I just fitted it with a bone saddle and man, it sounds good. Maybe it's because it's a 2004 and has had time to open up. The neck is really glossy so it seems it has been played a lot. Big Martin dread sound.

Congrats!

I have one built in 2003. Once I got it my GAS for a Martin was satisfied.

Congratulations! Side cleat, huh. I guess there's more than one way to have a guitar open up quickly, am I right?

Just kidding. They are great guitars but they are super light and prone to key cracking. I should know. My D-16GT's a 2010 but the binding did its job. Just watch that end pin. Sometimes they slip out.

I've heard really great things about these, and actually almost picked one up from the Austin Craigslist before I decided to go ahead and get a D-18GE. Enjoy it!

Congrats on the D-16GT! I have a 2009 model that I bought on the first strum back in '09. Although I played it infrequently over the past few years, it's the guitar I've played by far the most over the past couple of months. It has great tone.

Enjoy.
