Same for me sometimes. 1,5h morning and when I'm motivated another hour in the evening... but it's just doodling

As long as it works for you. There is no standard method. We all have different goals and our goals pretty much dictate our approach.

You also need to have the time to do two-a-days. Old retired folks have time for it. Young people with a job and family, maybe not so much spare time.

Default Guitar Practice Routine

I have played nearly three decades and still am improving my practice routine all the time.

TBman had great advice as well as others. I too use Transcribe!, it’s very handy. I would suggest practicing with a metronome. That will help with your timing.
