Default odd metallic sound on D string.

Hello, Please help me.

I have a martin om(Adirondack, Madagascar) and this one has a unusual phenomenon.
As I know, a lot of martin guitars have this phenomenon, of course, and other guitars.
One of my friend has martin custom on(Alpine, Madagascar) and this one has the same phenomenon.
Almost people don't think of it as problem. but I`d like to get rid of it.

When the D string(4th string) ring, some metallic high sound come with.
It is happened just on open D string. Isn't happened another D.
When I use pick, this sound is louder than I use finger.

Is this from Nut? Head machine? Please help.
Maybe clues are too short to grasp precise situation. But please give me even small hint.

Thank you for your help.

Sounds like the D-string nut slot may have been cut too low.

I agree with Ned, put a small piece of paper in the D nut slot, if the sound goes away have the nut repaired or replaced. If it is still there you will have to keep searching.
