1976 Martin T-28 Tiple PRICE DROP
Hope it's ok to post this in guitars...apparently it is in the guitar FAMILY.
Anyway, I recently acquired this rare bird, a 1976 Martin T-28 in original case. It's a 10-string Tiple (I think pronounced tee-play). From what I have been able to figure out, Martin made around 500 Tiples between the 1920s and the late 1970s. (I'm neither a Tiple nor Martin expert). The T28 has the same appointments as a D28. This one is in very nice shape aside a pronounced crack in the bridge. There is also some checking on the top and a bit on the rosewood sides. The top has no belly. There are no other cracks or structural issues as best I can tell. There is a small scuff on the back of the neck but pretty minor. I tuned it to A D F# B and it sounded lovely. I didn't do much else with it because I just have too much going on to get involved with yet another thing. The case is original and even comes with the key. Also included are a set of NOS Martin Tiple strings. No smells or mold in the case. I'm listing this at $2200 shipped but open to ideas and offers. I can't seem to add photos to this listing but will try again tonight. Photos here: MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE HERE Last edited by jaz761; 03-31-2022 at 10:05 AM. |
