Thumbs up ABT60 Baritone string buzz

Well, for those of you who have an ABT60 out there, u already know it's a great buy for the money. I've had mine for 8 months and love the sound, but noticed that the high B string buzzed like a sitar from 7th-12th fret when played a bit hard. F# string also did this at times. I tried adjusting the neck, but no luck.
To get rid of the buzz , follow these steps and you will hear your ABT60 sing!!
First, go to the Alvarez website and find St. Louis Music phone number. Speak with Tom K. about your string buzz problem and he will quickly send you 4 free saddle shims to raise the saddle height. When you get them and are ready for a string change, choose the 2 THICKEST ones, and place both FLAT in the clean saddle groove. Replace saddle over these shims making sure compensated part is over the F#. I restrung my ABT60 with La Bella Phos Bronze light strings.
That's it!!! Unbelievable sound for the money and the problem is fixed without the hassle of a new saddle.

This time of year it might mean that your guitar could be a little dried out . If the top is sinking in it will pull the saddle down with it and also the strings. Check with a straight edge across the top of the guitar just behind the saddle an see if it is flat or concave. You should have a slight arch in the top.
Just a thought.

Thanks!!! That is true, especially here in NY with the heat on all the time driving the relative humidity down to 30% indoors! For the ABT60 and my other 4 Taylors, I have been using with great success the Planet Waves Humidipaks. Thanks for your post.
