Default Guitar Cables

Hi folks,
I am in search for a new guitar cable (10-15’). Not that it seems to matter but I play acoustic 6 & 12 strings and electric. What seems to be the go-to cable these days?

I see Tommy Emmanuel uses Laboga
Eric Johnson uses George L
Adrian Legg uses Evidence Audio

So many choices. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Nathan

Pick any one of those. Get a spare.

Mogami (wire) and Neutrik or Amphenol (connectors) are top quality. Look for anything with that pairing.

Not a huge believer in crazy expensive cables. Not garbage ones of course, but decent. I like the Boss cables. they pop up on Stupid deal of the day regularly in a two pack. I recently got a pair of 25' for $34 or $37. Can't remember exactly.

I use these because the plugs are top quality and made locally in Meadville, Pa. (also the home of channel-lok tools). They are not cheap, but not ridiculous, and Ive never had one fail after years of not taking care of them. As for audio quality, I cant tell differences with cables.

Cables that say lifetime warrantee
Cost what they think is reasonable for the warrantee they give. I've had a monster cable that I bought new 20
Yrs ago. I've replaced it under warrantee 4 times. It was 29 dollars
Which was really expensive 20 yrs ago. Now its 79 dollars. That will buy
A mile of mogami and neutrik ends.
And the mogami wont be so stiff that
You cant turn around twice on stage
Without it curling up. Sound quality is the same if not better with mogami.

it doesn't matter what any one else uses.

any thing will work, no need to spend a lot of money $20 should get you any number of decent cables to use

Back in the day I put a piece of red electrical tape on all my equipment. It made it so I could see if it was mine from a distance. Losing a cord or pedal really dig into the profits.

Musicians Friend has a two-pack of Ernie Ball cables as the Stupid Deal of the Day today.

SDOTD

Not the top-line best cable out there but I haven’t had any issues with the ones I have.

I’ve been using Monoprice cables for years - very inexpensive, and never had a problem. Their pricing has let me buy a number extra in various lengths, which has been even more convenient. Their mic cables have been good, too -

KLIQ cables on Amazon are excellent for the price. I have a 20' that gets used daily with no issues in 4 years. Now that I've put that in writing it will likely catch on fire when I try to use it this afternoon...

I have several Monoprice cables and have had no issues with them. They are available on Amazon, but usually cost less when you buy directly.

My church has a few Monoprice cables (XLR male to XLR female) that have a robust-looking cable and pretty connectors, but they all have a short/loose connection in them.

I find a blob of nail varnish on each jack is a good instant (secure) ID system. Also good for IDing different lengths. I do get some strange looks in the make-up aisle but it's safer than using my daughter's.
