More studio shots. Pictures and review to come once I have some serious time on the instrument. I've been blocked at every opportunity so far, and have scarcely had time to change the strings I killed on it the first night in Canada.

The bevels are exquisite, and really do make an enormous difference.

And the elevated fretboard--far more than the palm-away--gives me great access. It's not a cutaway replacement, but it's far better than a standard non-cutaway. Immediately noticeable.

More in time...

I played your guitar extensively ( as compared to others at the show) and really liked it , It seemed to have characteristics of guitars I have owned and loved all wrapped into one, This and a handful of other guitars at the show were really stand out instruments. As a side note I really liked the elevated fingerboard it made all kinds of things possible that are really normally difficult and as a plus did not seem to affect the weight as much as I initially thought it would. That's a great guitar I hope you play it allot, all the time , every day.

It's a monster. I'll try and sit down and write a lengthy review this week, and in the next few weeks, plan to do some video work with this and a Kraut, so all that to follow.

Not a guitar for the faint of heart, either. It's going to take me getting better to clean up my playing...

Here's the G1.2.5 on a Celtic piece.

Sorry, all. The sound on this was messed up; reposting with links below...

Here's a correct version of that video, without all the sound issues:

Greenfield G1.2.5

That's a lot more enjoyable to listen to, ha.

Like Vic, I have to say I really enjoyed that. I know these things change +++ by the time they find their way out of YouTube and a pair of PC monitors but the guitar sounds warm yet clear/defined, a tricky combination to pull off.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey, thanks for the kind comments. I was really happy with how the tone came through on these...

And now for something less pleasant:

[A repost of what I put on a recent comment on the Kraut guitar build thread, which also had YouTube links]

Unfortunately, I find it sad that apparently people who don't like a guitar or its sound will hop on YouTube and "down thumb" (dislike) a video. I have to imagine it is silliness (and that's a nicer word than I'm thinking) like this that keeps people from posting their own videos to sites/forums like this.

I noticed this, largely because the original videos all had a single dislike, and when I re-uploaded and then posted here, I immediately got a dislike on all of those. I imagine it's that one guy who has such a hangup with Mike Greenfield and maybe a buddy.

Anyway, I'm not losing any sleep over it, but it certainly does make you wonder, "Why bother to post stuff like this when people act like children?"

Ok, rant over, back to my real job, ha ha...

Maybe you should deactivate the rating link on your videos? I get dislikes from people from time to time, also. No big deal, really. Seems like it might be some form of jealousy on the part of whoever is responsible for down rating your vids.

it's not only a great guitar to play finger style but strum as well.~

Thanks for the great review~

Wow, what a great guitar! I just watched your youtube vid as well and really enjoyed your playing. Don't worry about the dislikes. Probably just a by-product of jealousy/immaturity.
