Didn't realize Hawking was into Battlestar Galactica! Good show!

Haha, that’s the image which immediately came to my mind when I first heard the names of the two astronauts! A couple of “hosers!”

I was actually looking for the "Koo roo koo koo koo koo koo koo" acapella call on youtube. But I only found the Geddy Lee song from the Album. Figured the pic would be better known.

Why do they wear them? I mean, they're indoors, right? It's not like they're sticking their heads out the window.

I got an email from my older brother this morning with a photo attached showing his son (my nephew), an MD and colonel in the US Air Force, on the medical team for the NASA astronauts. I had no idea he was involved in any way, so I thought that was cool.

It's particularly interesting that my nepher got involved with NASA, at least temporarily, because his grandfather, my dad, worked his entire career for NASA.

I was glad and relieved to see that SpaceX rocket and the two astronauts go up with no problems.

I was all set during the original launch date but alas it got scrubbed. Then I totally missed the Saturday launch. Tried to look up and see on tv but mostly just mission command folks sitting looking at screens. I really wanted to see a lot more on how the rocket returned to the drone in the ocean but their screen went black while it was landing. :/

You actually did not miss much of that. I wanted to seem more footage of that too, but really they did show anything other than the rocket on the ship already landed. That is almost if not as impressive as the launch to me.

Gonna don my tinfoil hat...

Considering SpaceX's success rate at landing the Falcon 9 on the barge - which is NOT great...

It was awfully convenient the video feed from the barge just cut out for the entire landing. They were like "the Falcon 9 is approaching, lets go to the on board camera....oops, nothing there....look at the Dragon vehicle making it's way into orbit....lets go back to the barge....oh look - the Falcon 9 has landed perfectly! Yay"

Whatever, the humans were seamlessly delivered to the space station as intended. That's a great success.

I wondered about that....

I'm proud of it, and glad the U.S.A. is back in the game.

Science is a good thing.

I think they crashed every time for a few times until they
got it figured out and now they're real good at it... there's
a graph with statistics on this wiki page:

My wife and I drove over from Lakeland on the original launch day (last Tuesday or Wednesday?)...only for it to be scrubbed about ten minutes before launch. What a bummer!
But hey, it's very cool that the second launch was successful...we watched it via YouTube.
