When I got to play Will McNicol's guitar during a workshop, I loved the feeling of the satin finish on the neck, so we went with it and Tom suggested a slight coloring of the neck to make the lighted colored Spanish cedar neck more harmonious with the rest of the guitar. I think he killed it...

And finally, as I know pictures don't do the work justice, I want to share some close up to show how incredibly clean Tom-s work is. I really am over the moon.

Next batch of pictures should be close to the final guitar, and then I-ll share more about the little trip we-re planning to pick up the guitar

Thanks everyone,

WOW! that's a gorgeous looking guitar! I'm very envious as I've been looking around at a 00 sized guitar for some time and Tom Sands with redwood top and rosewood back and sides has been at the top of my list. Super excited for you and can't wait to hear what this thing sounds like!

A beautiful guitar. Love the combination of redwood and BRW.

Thanks for the kind comments folks. Tom has installed and pressed the frets. The guitar should be finalized by the end of the week, right before Christmas!

Oh come on, just stop it already!!

I have been able to keep a good lid on my health, I don't think I can manage another GAS attack.

Beautiful work as always from Tom. Thanks for sharing.

I am afraid I'll have to continue just a tad longer! How is your S maturing by the way? I remember this guitar being sent to Marcus Wong at the GOlden Era guitars at some point. I have a sweet spot for mahogany backed guitars, so this one started the itch

Tom has now carved one of his beautiful bridges (in Braz also), and the infamous green pins with gold hues. Again, just a splash of color to echo the green purfling.

Now the bridge has been glued to the top and Tom has also installed his signature tuners, whose heads will be replaced in a week by green/gold colored ones.

See how the tuner plates echo the shape of his headstock. Very tasty.

I'm honored!

This is shaping up to be an (unsurprisingly) fantastic build. Congrats Vaillant.

Here are the tuners I just mentioned, which will arrive for the new year. In the meantime, strings have been installed and the guitar will now rest as tom goes on to celebrate Xmas. To his words, "It's so nice, and loud!"
