Also, buying a new hard case, as the one presently is bad. Will post photos as soon as received.

Incredible. I truly mean that. It is a guitar that i might end up keeping and just selling my other acoustic.

Do you know what size the bridge should be? It appears original to me, but i can measure it to confirm.

FYI: Checked with my luthier and he stated that the bridge appears original. Also having both nut and saddle swapped out for bone and having a professional set up done with new strings. Get it while you can.

Yes, it does. The wings don't look like a Martin.

Nice guitar. Very likely not the original case, as you suspected. I have a '71 D-28 with original case. It's the one with the blue molded exterior with MARTIN molded into the top. The pick guard is just slightly larger than the original, which is sometimes the case. The pick guards on those guitars tended to curl up around the edges over time, requiring replacement. The replacement is sometimes slightly larger than the original so as to completely cover the border in the finish left by the original.

The bridge is the same shape as mine but appears just slightly bulkier and made of a lighter wood. The pins on mine are white with a black dot in the center. That doesn't necessarily mean, of course, that they are not original. Martin may have altered some things between '70 and '71. Don't know about the saddle.

It's a very nice guitar, though, and should attract a buyer.

Thanks. I believe the pickguard and saddle are not original. The case was already tossed and replaced. But my luthier who's pretty knowledgeable believes the bridge and tuners are original..also he had nice things to say about the structural integrity of the guitar.

You'll need to get confirmation from someone else besides your luthier about that bridge being original as it really looks oversized. If you love it you should keep it but best of luck either way.
