Why is Martin repurposing brand new guitars?

Maybe they think there's money to be made off of us aging boomers. I think that marketing plan has worked out pretty well for them...

I don't understand. This isn't a "repurposing"...it's still a guitar. Just a much uglier one now. This is just another marketing gimmick.

Great I opened it. Now the algorithms will have this popping up every where I go.

They've done special editions many times. This one is "Martin and artist Robert F. Goetzl have collaborated with David Crosby to produce a special-edition art guitar aimed at encouraging young people to actively participate in the nation’s election system."

But, but, but it's, and I quote, "one of the most historic moments in musical history." Someone please take my money! Ha ha.

I wonder how long it would take to become quite tired of this.
Wouldn't want to miss a marketing opportunity though-no matter how cheesy. |

Yup, it's marketing.
Gibson/Epiphone has been doing nutty stuff like this for years. At least the Martin themed guitars have something to do with music. |

Given the pre-war "singing cowboy" guitars one could consider this sort of thing almost traditional by now.

Actually I think its a smart business practice -
its a so so guitar ( countertop plastic ) and moving something like that helps keep you solvent -they learned this with all that cowboy guitar clutter thats out their -im actually surprised that they havent put girls with swim suits on them , maybe WW2 Airplane paintings ( im betting they did do this somewhere - Think ive seen it , just cant recall where )

The Woodstock guitar comes to mind..graphics were good but it sounded very ordinary..kinda poor for a Martin.
