Looking good!
You should give it an inlay of a banjo with a broken neck and blood dripping off of it |

I'm just jealous that you have the skills to do this. Looks great can't wait to see it finished and played.

So, every time I thought I was ready to pore fill I would find something else glaring at me to fix. CA and dust here and there. Duh, fit in the missing binding at top where it fell short. Pound that in. Fix the 4" crack that happened when I pounded in the missing binding.......
Last night I prep sanded to 180. Cleaned the surface with denatured alcohol. This morning I epoxied the pore holes and other little spots with Zpoxy. The fellow that recommended it also passed on the wisdom of it is better to apply 3 times if needed then to glop it on and sand it back to level Directions say 30 minute dry time I'll go 24 hours |

The box you have in this picture is glue not finishing resin. All bets are off--

Even though you've used regular epoxy as opposed to Z's filler epoxy, I believe you'll be all right. I've used five minute on filling porous binding before and had no problem. However, it appears you'll be using a lot of sandpaper before you hit bare wood again. That's a really healthy coat you put on.

How does it look now that it's dry? Was the gloss from moisture or does it still look like that?

The gloss remains till I sand to the wood. But the wood is filled now and very smooth. Like I said in the zpoxy post the dust is fine and everywhere. I ordered a new respirator off amazon.
