Polishing a guitar
I bought a guitar pump polish to clean my guitar. Is there any specific cloth to use for cleaning a guitar?
Also, how do you clean a rosewood fret board? |

You can use any soft clean cloth or buy a microfiber cloth if you prefer.
Do not use the polish on your fretboard. I use Lemon oil here at my shop to clean and protect fretboards. Wet the board with it well and let it set a few minutes to help dissolve any dirt then buff clean with a dry rag. |

I use and recommend cotton balls to my clients. Cheap and disposable. And they work very well. Don't use "absorbent puffs" since they are acrylic and don't work the same.

Polishing a guitar
Will it damage the fretboard if you used a guitar polish to clean it? Or is it just better to use oil?

As Brian stated above, don't use polish on a finger board. I too use lemon oil. Have tried other oils, but still prefer lemon.

For the fingerboard... Use just a bit of solvent and clean it until black stuff stops coming off..... Then you're good
So long, and thanks for all the fish. |
