Default Does anyone do a belly bevel?

I've noticed that arm bevels on custom acoustics are all the rage. Has anyone successfully implemented a belly bevel? Like on a strat... That could look pretty sweet and be very functional. I would t think it would effect sound much more than changing the shape of the top for an arm bevel...

Our newest sponsor has done a few that I know of....

I'll look through his "sold - available guitars" and see if I can find one....

Here's one....

Joel Stehr does one. I have it on my dread and it is very comfortable.

Here's page 10 of the thread. Don't know how to post pics from my iPad.

http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...287589&page=10

He does rib, arm and cutaway bevels.

Gerald Sheppard does one...He doesn't call it that, but that is essentially what it is.

Special mention should be given to Grit Laskin -- the originator of the arm rest and rib rest.

I will be visiting Grit in just a few weeks to choose a set of BRW for an upcoming build.

Oooh yes, I agree that a belly bevel looks amazing. I've had the chance to play two guitars with one (though from the same luthier) and they were very comfortable.

Here a belly bevel on an African Blackwood OM built by Casimi Guitars here in South Africa.

The original thread of that guitar is here: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...06#post3439506

MikeAlpine, your Stehr dread looks amazing. It was one of the first build threads I found on this forum, and the first example of Joels work I had come across, and now I am hooked. Never had the chance to play one, but wow are they all good-looking.

Default Belly bevel?

KOZM Heresy 2

All of my acoustics have ergonomic, non-sharp edges.

If this isn't enough belly bevel for you, I can always bump it up on a custom.

Why?

Plus, it's such a subtle shape, I doubt anyone could hear any difference for either bevel or even both combined.
