Help Take Out the Trash
We, like other forums, are experiencing a rash of Spam scattered throughout our forum. While our Mod Squad does its best to pull these weeds as soon as they are spotted, extra eyes will be most helpful.
To report a Spam post or other violations of our forum rules, click on the red and white triangle in the upper right hand corner of the offending post. Briefly state the problem, and your message will be relayed to our Moderators. Your help will be greatly appreciated! cotten |

Hey I know we are censored not to discuss certain stuff, like the religious thing. There are a lot of people who talk about their church and war ship and all that stuff. They talk about what they play and what not, they say words like "congregation" and other religious stuff. Should we report them to like satan or on of the moderators or such? Are these violations?

Which makes sense. Nobody on here gets to argue theology or discuss fine points of church doctrine, but it hurts no one when we discuss practical aspects of guitar playing, whether the setting happens to be a church or a biker bar. If you feel this is somehow unfair, stop for a moment and count up the number of bars and coffeehouses in your town that feature live music. Now count the number of churches. Even disallowing those churches that have theological barriers to using musical instruments in church, like the Russian Orthodox, the Plymouth Brethren and some of the Mennonite groups, there are still likely to be several times as many churches that use guitars in any given town as there are bars and coffeehouses that have live music. (That's in the United States - other countries may have different ratios.) In other words, if any and all mention of playing music in church were to be banned on this forum, it would most likely banish a huge percentage of the forum participants who play music in front of other people on a regular basis. What practical purpose would that serve, really? Hope that makes sense. Wade Hampton Miller |
