Never played a Taylor - BUT I HAVE NOW!
Taylor 324 SEB. Mahogany Top, Tasmanian Blackwood Back and Sides.
This thing is dark, bassy, loud. Plays like silk and looks fantastic to boot. If you have never played or considered a Taylor this is a great place to start! You might just buy one like I did. How about sharing your Taylor experience, when a Taylor guitar surprised you and exceeded your expectations? Last edited by mpaul73; 04-18-2018 at 05:17 PM. |

Congrats. The 324SEB is one heck of a guitar, particularly for the price point is currently sits at. It punches way above it's weight class.

It's the darkest, woodiest, warmest Taylor in the whole lineup! It's wonderful!

Congrats on your new 300 series! Would love to see some pics. Earlier today I pulled the trigger on a 312ce 12-fret from John at Shoreline Music. It's got a sitka top and sapele back/sides. It'll definitely have a punchier/brighter sound which is right up my alley. Got it for a somewhat unbelievable price, no way I could pass it up!

Congratulations! Well, my first experience with Taylor guitar was in 1981. I was in a local music store, and resting on a guitar stand out in the open was a very nice looking 12-sting. I didn’t recognize the name on the headstock, but it sure sounded nice, except it definitely needed an neck adjustment. The price was listed at 1500.00 at the time, which was a considerable amount especially for a young guy like me. Naturally, I couldn’t afford it, so I waited a few weeks, checking back in from time to time, and finally they started to drop the price to sell, but even at a low of 800.00, it was still out of reach. So, I took a chance and offered the salesman 500.00 for it, and to my surprise he accepted. I hurried home to ask my Dad for a loan of 200 cuz I had saved 300. I went back to the store a got the guitar. As it turned out, it was a beautiful 855 jumbo with mustache bridge, an amazing guitar. I still own the guitar, which was built in 1979, and spent its first two years in storage at the store, because they had a 815 jumbo that sat there for two years, finally sold it and pulled the 855 out on the floor. Imagine that! I got the neck adjusted for 60 bucks and was good to go! In one year, the guitar will reach the age of 40.
