Default 1970 Martin D-28- totally overhauled - amazing tone - SOLD

Very early (March) 1970's D-28. Moded to the hilt or as Bryan would call it Modzilla. Over $1,200 in upgrades. One hell of a guitar.

Price is SOLD shipped and Pay Pal to lower 48

Bryan Kimsey did following work (some for me and some for the previous owner):

1. Full brace scallop + tone bar scallop (top, back and tone bar braces shaved, and lightly tapered just like pre-war) $100
2. Larger sound hole (half Tony) $20
3. Gotoh Open back butter bean $60
4. Endpin plug $20
5. New pickguard $50
6. Neck reset (action is amazing. Low with no buzzing) $300
7. New fresh frets $215
8. New bridge (to correct position for perfect intonation) $150
9. New bridge plate $100
9. New WAHI saddle $25
10. Slotted pin holes $15
11. New antique pins $35
12. New bone nut $45
13. Popsicle brace out $75

Guitar had a crack repaired at lower bout and neck volute repaired (super strong now) a long time ago. The top has usual playing nicks and wear. So not a museum piece but no cracks. All work double checked by Bryan Kimsey. Clean bill of health.

You will not play better and smoother 70’s Martin. Fresh neck reset combined with a great setup, new frets, new nut/saddle and bridge at the same time, really make this guitar pure butter to play regardless of the strings. The sound is crystal clear and loud. Bass is deep but clear. No muddiness at all on any of the strings. This guitar needs nothing.

Several offers. Strongly considering one. I'll let it ride a couple of more days. Thanks
