Default I'm consistent, at least...

I've been fighting my DAW for quite a while but think I figured it out yesterday. Anyway, I was recording a song I've been working on and decided to change a chord progression in the second part. I got through the first part but noticed my voice was louder in my headphones than it had been. I assumed I had inadvertently changed the monitor setting until I got to the second part. I had forgotten to mute the first take but was singing so close to that take that it simply sounded louder. Ha!
