Default Got a nice unexpected compliment

I guess I'm bragging a little, but since I don't consider myself a professional and I am my own biggest critic I was pleased by this nice feedback I got.

In this thread I tracked a project to salvage/restore a D-15. It was a pretty tough project and I was very critical of my own work. I kept at it until I was satisfied and sold it off.

The user sent me this feedback today which really made me quite happy and proud.

Got the Martin D-15... Love it... Plays perfectly in my home studio... I put a L.R. Baggs Lyric acoustic guitar mic system in it... Sounds amazing thru my Marshall AR50S Combo Acoustic Amp and Behringer Virtualizer Pro DSP2024 24-bit effects Processor, which is also mic’d thru my Behringer 2442 PA Mixer...

I too have been playing professionally for 48-years now...and I have to say that you are really talented from what I see in the workmanship of this Martin D-15

I see that you do great work on resetting necks...

I'm my opinion, fazool, your patience and attention to detail are really really good so that immediately puts you in good company with other solid luthier types!

I think it's been stated here but doing a nice repair is often harder than building the whole thing. Case in point? I suck at repairs but have built a guitar.....that worked for awhile.. And will soon work again after I REPLACED a neck cuz I couldn't repair it!!!

Fazool that's really cool! You definitely have some skills! I'm wondering when you're going to ply them at a build? ;-)

Bravo my friend. fwiw I remember seeing that thread and thinking you did a fine job in covering your tracks. Remember they are not mistakes they are simply opportunities to learn (forgot who to credit for that one ).
