I have just been looking at your rectangular bridge again Stuw. I do like things a bit different and it really seems to suit those square shoulders your have going on there, the more I see it the better it looks. Even though I don't like bridge edges parallel with the top grain for structural reasons I would be tempted to go for it. It is making decisions like that, that I find a enjoyable part of the process.

Thanks Jim, I'm going to make another and see which I like the best. I'm back home, and back in the shop, started working on fretting today.

The neck is curley black walnut, second neck i have done with it and like it. The cracks are hard to see depending on humidity. The nice thing is they are easy to fix and they disappear with zircote.

Stu, you know the first question everyone wants to know, right?
It looks really nice. You did a good job on it. And the colors all work together. Oh yeh, the question: How does it sound? Have you had enough time to find out? Great work, Bob |

I haven't had much time to work on it lately, It's mostly been just sitting there letting the strings stretch. I do have a couple of issues I need to address today if I can find the time and my fret rocker, (had my 4 yo granddaughter helping me in the shop last week) Not sure if I took to much off the saddle on the high e string when I was shaping the saddle, or I have a high fret or two. The 7th, 8th, and 9th frets are all the same note. I did try a shim under the saddle (high e) and the issue went away so I may just make a new one and start over. Issue number two is I forgot to put the side marker dots on.... geesh do I feel silly. All in all, it sounds great, more bass than I expected, and it's not as loud as the Koa I built, which I wasn't expecting. I don't know enough about the different tone woods for the tops, but I suspect its because I used WRC, instead of the adi.
