I think he's trying to play Dream A Little Dream OfMe in his own style or arrangement.

Definitely a Rag, kind of sounds like a simplified version of Darktown Strutter's Ball, although I like minor chord form in your version of whatever it turns out to be.

Sounds like you've put together a piece made out of bits and pieces of at least 6 other compositions, from Scott Joplin to the Mammas & the Pappas! Love it!

Don’t know the tune, but that is a grail guitar for me.

I heard a smidgeon of that, too.

I suspect Andy is having fun with us - but whatever the tune was, it was delightful, well-played, and on the perfect style of guitar for the genre.

I’m guessing Scott Joplin had to be in there somewhere.

Thanks for the guesses so far - definitely nothing like the Dream a little dream progression, nor Darktown Strutters Ball.

Definitely a rag - just don't know which.

Keep trying please. Suggestions welcome.

Has echoes of The Entertainer, by Scott Joplin, to my ears…but then it takes off in a different direction.

Smile No idea….

No idea the name of the tune but I like it! And fun faces, too….

Change the key, and play it in triplet time. Bingo! New tune you just wrote.

Cheers

Paul

A similar accusation has been made on "Y/T", but this is not true. I really found a video of me playing this possibly 15-20 years ago. I surely didn't know or remember it, and it doesn't sound to me like a piece that I would compose. I'm convinced that it is something I learnt or was taught, and suppose that it is a classic rag of some sort.

Thanks for that srick, I found some versions of that, and there are some similarities, but the version by Rainer Brunn, is probably too clever for me.
