Default My amp shootout, Fender GTX50 wins....

Okay I have 4 guitar amps, a Roland Jazz Chorus 22, a Supro Delta King, a Fender Acoustic Junior GO amp, and a Fender GTX50. Using my new Tommy Thayer Epiphone Les Paul with the Seymour Duncan pickups, I get the best sound from the Fender GTX50. The other amps come in a close tie for second place, as they all sound good, but the GTX50 has a richer fuller sound on the Fender Twin setting which sets it apart......excellent for recording too.

Cool, glad you're liking the Fender amp with your new guitar.

Now, let's hear about the guitar!

the mustangs are pretty handy amps

They do a lot of different things

The Fender models always sound good

The amps are just plain ol' fun to use.

The guitar is perfect in every way, nice wide neck, good action, the pickups are hot and sound wonderful, the paint job is flawless, the matching case is really nice and contains a certificate of authenticity signed by Tommy Thatcher. The guitar needs nothing, playable right out of the box. It's a real beauty just to look at. Grover tuners are very smooth. Epiphone did a fabulous job building this guitar !!!!!!!

Not sure your budget, but you should check out the Kemper Profiler. It's the industry standard in Nashville for capturing tube amp tones. The weakness of a lot of amp-and-modeller systems out there is that the amp models themselves aren't that great.

My advice is to start with a top tier amp profile/model/capture/etc. and then figure out what your monitoring source will be, either FRFR, traditional cabinet/speaker, or one of the other off-the-shelf solutions like Kemper Cabinet, Line 6 PowerCab, etc.

Here's one of my favorite Kemper content creators demo'ing his 1965 Fender Twin Reverb profiles. A real blackface Twin was the source of these profiles, so not surprisingly it sounds killer.

I finally pulled the plug... Wanted a Nice Twin Reverb sound.. So I went with a Mustang GTX100.. at 22lbs it was the lightest of the bunch and I figure who could do a Fender clean better than Fender ?

I'll give my impressions of it when I get it and start a New thread,,,
I want to do more recording with it also

Congrats on that. I will be VERY interested to hear your thoughts on it after you've used it a bit. I'm very tempted by it. Heck, it comes with a very flexible and handy $100 foot switch, so you're really only paying about $400 for the amp, which seems like a relative bargain for what you're getting.

I watched the Andertons YouTube comparison of the GTX to the Katana and was VERY impressed with the sound and flexibility of the GTX.
