Default Trouble with Barre Chords and Capo

Been playing a fingerstyle song that requires a capo on the 5th fret. It’s all fine until I have to play the F chord. I have no problem with the F chord in first position, however with the capo up the next I find it very hard to cleanly fret it.

This goes for other barre chords as well.

Question is, is it typical to get some buzz when holding barre chords with a capo?

I tried holding it at the 6th fret without the capo and it seemed easier. Any reason for this?

If the buzzing is coming from you, you might have to move the capo back off the fret more to give yourself more room. If its from the guitar, you might have to give the neck a touch more relief.

If a guitar is set up right, barre chords are the same with or without a capo on.
