Default Christmas photo shoot #1

I got three of them to sit still long enough to take a photo.
Left to right, Avalon L2-220, Gibson J-45 and Larrivee OM-05Attachment 16530

My 2cents?? A little dark. If you dont want the flash marks on the guitars get a couple daylight temperature LED bulbs, 100watt eq. at least, put the camera on a tripod and have at it. This way the natural color of the wood on the guitars will come thru but the warm color of the lights on the tree will still be there. Of course if you want a real warm tone on the wood reg temp bulbs will give a warm "holiday" feel to it. Whatever...

Looks like you got the kids to sit still, but the camera-man was moving around.

Hold that camera still!

Looks like I'll have to do a re-shoot. Tough crowd,

You managed to eliminate 'red-eye' quite nicely.

If they refuse to behave, send them here and I'll sort them out for you. It will take about 20 years.

No...not tough, just Jersey honest! I have spent forty years photographing people, interiors, landscapes, etc, just trying to pass along some info acquired from years and years of making mistakes. Remember...the best lens you own is your tripod.

Also, quick tip when shooting kids - drop down to their level and see how that looks ... too many people shoot down "at" kids in photos ... take a knee and watch how the perspective changes ... suddenly they are the subject, not an object ...

Yes, getting three to sit still this time of year can be challenging!

I'm going to take a different tack here: MERRY CHRISTMAS! It's heart-warming to see kids so happy on X-mas morning ...

Yes, it is. And I have heard that on Christmas morning guitars open up quite nicely.

It is great to see your gang, Barry. Nice trio.

Best,
Jayne

Would love to see some pictures of what gear everyone gets on Christmas morning! I'm thinking I have a pretty special pick coming!

I don't have a tree. This would have to do.

Plot twist - those are all full sized amps, and the guitars are giant.
