Just Switched to Martin Retro Monels
I've been happy with Newtone .013's on my Eastman archtop for a while. Based on a lot of reviews here I tried the Martin monel .013 strings. Better volume, especially on the lower strings. Bright, but not too bright. So far they're keepers.

Funny I use Monel's on my Loar 700 and think they are a great match, but I'm feeling I need a bit more warmth at the moment and so am thinking of a change, maybe even some flatwounds. A change is as good as a holiday, so they say.

I just bought a set too, to try on my Kingpin Fifth Avenue... haven't tried 'em yet but they're next up after this current set of D'Addario nickel half-rounds wear out.

I was wondering about how they would sound throuh an electric guitar pickup. Since they are made of monel, should they sound similar to the old Gibson Mona-Steel Strings?
