Default First Guitar

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know this isnt where this post belongs. I'm on my first build, and I think I made a boo boo. When I cut my neck and tail blocks, I left them both at 5 inches tall and glued them in. Some plans that I have seen say that the neck block needs to be at about 3 1/2 in. Is this true, or can I leave the neck and tail blocks the same hight? Thanks.

you're right there are some forums dedicated to this purpose.

mimf.com
kitguitarsforum.com
luthiersforum.com

to name a few.

it almost doesn't matter what some plans say. it's what your plans are, that matters. if this is your first build, be sure you know what you're doing before you try it out on your project. it's easier to ask first, than to go backwards on your building. don't mean to sound like a lecture. i speak as someone in your shoes, and not all that long ago!

you're going to need to trim those blocks.
