It looks like I was first in line,
Here are pics of its first shine.
I think the top and rosette look great,
Hackberry cut off seems to be fate!

I wanted to darken up the mesquite a little,
Steve talked to Tony and he began to fiddle.
The results can be seen below,
It came out better than I had hoped, behold!

The picture took some inspectin'
Making sure there is no finish checkin'
Turned out it was just a reflection (of a checked wall)
And of flaws there's not a mention
(and the guitar looks really fetchin')

Oh boy, you are too funny,
Better not be checking as it hasn't left Tony's shop.
There is the matter of money,
And finish checking would make payment stop.

(lol)

Looking good, Tom--really looking forward to your impressions once it's in hand.

Dennis, don't go a tweetin,
Tweetin is bad for the soul.

You are much better off a eatin.
And after you finish, take a nice stroll!

Fresh air and sun on a path made of tar,
Who knows, could lead to a fine Cuban Cigar!

Yes, Dennis wins, I do believe.
A better poem, I can’t conceive.
It’s short and pithy—but what’s more,
It leaves me rolling on the floor.

Back from a show, it is time to go,
the neck has some color and it shows.
It should match the burst on the body,
Steve's match was perfect and not at all shoddy.

Watching paint dry as they say,
Is a waste of time each and every day.
But waiting for finish to cure,
Ain't much better that is for sure!

It's like all these build threads just went dead,
And even though we know we should just go to bed,
We keep looking just the same,
Just in case the finish pics finally proclaim!!

He was gone from Texas for a time,
Off to Michigan for a shine.
Now he is back and purty as a dime,
I love the colors looking mighty fine.

As Ryan has said the top is good,
Mighta ended up being used just for wood.
Patching a ship's mast in ole Houston Town,
We think a better life it has found.

An edge burst was put on the back,
Steve has the neck finished to match.
It brought out the grain and added some depth,
At his job, Mr. Tony is truly adept.

This is going to be fun to try,
Even though it won't be for us to buy.
As our mouths will drool when our eyes are laid on,
Mr. Tom will smile knowing all to well,
Our pleasure is temporary as B.I.G. is only so long,
But we will all leave saying, man that sure was swell!

That mesquite back looks good.
I expected it should
The figure unfurls
With finish. The curls
Show the beauty of West Texas wood
