I hope no one is too attached to "pumpkin hues", as I expect it to be more of a brick color under finish. It will get redder/browner as time passes, and if we live long enough to see it, it should look something like an old violin bow . . . hopefully w/o the grime. UV does the trick, along with oxidization.

I've just put in the last little piece of the back binding, but it's not yet ready to be seen. Tomorrow it's the graft and the dovetail mortise, most likely, and then I'll get a good start on the neck.

I inlaid and fretted the Schoenberg 00 today, and expect to make and install a pyramid bridge for it tomorrow as well.

No attachment to pumpkin despite the upcoming season whatsoever. I am just describing what I am seeing as you do your thing. I know the Pernambuco will shift towards a deeper burnt sienna/red ochre hue as finish is applied and oxidative and photolysis degradation processes take their course through the years.

Default Two more

A few more shots from the "pumpkin hued" pernambuco patch in Petaluma (couldn't resist the alliteration).

That's a really nice set of Pernambuco. I've always liked wood with shades of orange

The AGF likes to keep thread length at no more than 300 posts. We have allowed this thread to go a little long. I have started a new one to continue this thread. http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...80#post4149180

Thanks,
Glenn
