My favorite wood since 1992. That is one very sweet looking guitar.

I have been talking with jason quite alot about a build for me in the next year or so. He has been amazingly helpful, with his knowledge and helping me really consider what I am looking for. The pictures I have seen of his work are just flawless. I am planning to stop by his shop in April and meet him in person and talk some more. Great guy and great work.

Looking gorgeous Michael (the guitar, that is!). Would be very keen to get my paws on this when it's done.

Thanks for the thread - loving the build on this one. Very, very excited ... and very, very envious!

Best,

Dan

Default Headstock!

So, the build continues apace and in more good news Jason's personal guitar has now arrived to keep me going until Montreal.

I played my first show with it the night before last and it was very, very special! It's still settling in and I'm still getting to know it but I'm already getting so much back from it. If it was for sale I'd have snapped it up, but then this thread wouldn't have happened!

Which brings me back to...

Headstock!

Jason's headstock design features a hand-chiselled design on the faceplate that I absolutely love.

Following the theme of Ebony/Mahogany Jason has used for my guitar I wasn't sure which wood to go for for the faceplate, in the end I just said "surprise me".

And he did...

I have sat and stared at this for a while and plan to do more of the same in the weeks to come...

Now the one-piece neck will be glued to the box (truss-rod and CF rods will be put in too) and carved (there's just a little too much meat on it, even for me at the moment!)

Thanks again guys for all your comments and support PM's I really appreciate it, the gig with Amrit Sond was filmed in 4-angle HD and nicely mic'ed so there should be footage to share with you in the not too distant future.

Guys,

There's apparently a Kostal headed to Guitar Gallery here in TN. Any idea of the specs? (and, perhaps . . . price-point?)

Eric, thanks. If you could send a couple of pics that would be great. Jason has provided several pics of the build in process, but haven't seen the finished product yet. Would love to get your thoughts.

Brian, yes that would be my OM that should be showing up soon. Spec'd with Brazilian and German with cutaway, wedge and French polish top. Mike

You're welcome Mike! I also have thanks to give, in this case to ericsong who very kindly took the following pictures while visiting Jason last week. Thank you Eric!

How wonderful, I am really looking forward to receiving this beautiful instrument and hearing its voice for the first time.
