Adding strap buttons to a classical.

I added strap buttons on my cheaper nylon string guitar and really like the neck position either standing or seated with a strap. For my nicer guitar (Manuel Rodriguez cedar and walnut, student level guitar) I have been using a Dynarette cushion for about 8 years. That works well and I am happy with it. Before that I used footstools. Sometimes I wonder about adding strap buttons to the Rodriguez, but I worry about what such a modification might do to the value. I do not plan on selling it so I don't know why I should care, but I do. Any thoughts or experiences?
