1964 & 1966 Martin D-18’s
I’m selling one of my vintage D-18’s. As much as I love them both, I’m looking to fund another purchase so one of them has to go unfortunately. Both are players grade but are in great shape and need nothing. I’m only able to post 9 photos but I made a link for many more.
Prices are listed in the description and would be shipped from the Sacramento Foothills area of California. I’m only interested in trading for a D-28 authentic aged with Madagascar or Guatemalan RW or a pre 1960 Gibson Southern Jumbo. I’m willing to add $ to a trade. Thanks for looking and contact me with any questions you might have! Sound clip here: https://youtu.be/1N3R2TVSh2w 1964 D-18 This one is in the better condition of the two. The neck was recently reset and refretted by the previous owner by a luthier in Portland. I had my luthier go through it (Carl Chalmers) and he re-glued the bridge and give it a clean bill of health. The guitar has never had any top, back, or side crack repaired. The original tuners were replaced with replica’s and the originals are included. Someone in it’s history buffed the headstock a little hard as the gold on the logo isn’t as vibrant as others of this era, but the finish is original and in the link is a photo of the headstock under UV light. There is a small crack on the right side of the heal from the previous owners neck reset that my luthier checked and said was not an issue. It also comes with a 50’s-60’s era correct Lifton case. The outside of the case looks rough but the hardware works great and the inside is very clean. Overall, the guitar looks, plays, and sounds great! Price is $4,800 + shipping Several photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Fq76Tg9KzqPbcuHSA https://photos.app.goo.gl/Fq76Tg9KzqPbcuHSA 1966 D-18 I purchased this one from the 2nd owner who bought it back in 1969. I took it to Randall “Sparky” Kramer for a neck reset, refret, bridge re-glue, pickguard re-glue, binding repair, bone nut and saddle replacement, and a top center seam crack repair. Attached in the link is a photo of the top repair which was very small and did not require cleats. It now plays, feels, and sounds fantastic! The finish has a lot of checking mojo. It comes with a black “steal me” case with a bunch of items from the previous owner.
