Second, the craftsmanship and beauty of Jason Kostal guitars is simply breathtaking. It was so exciting for me to be able to closely examine everything about these guitars. Outstanding, period. But for me, what really matters is what happens when you begin to play one. When your body has a physical reaction to the sound coming from the guitar, a near "worshipful" type experience, you know you're are handling something very special, very special indeed. this happened to me, not once but twice as I played both of these guitars. Truly marvelous.

thank you Eric for reaching out to me via the AGF community. You are such a talented player, I look forward to many more visits, listening to you play and talk guitars. And please, take great care of those Kostal guitars. Wow!!
That sounds like, Eric.

Thanks Josh

Inspired by Jason's thread on his 4 Brazilian builds coming up, I thought I'd share some eye candy. Here are glamour shots of my Mod D and OM side by side. More recordings coming soon. Too busy playing

It's been a while, but I've had too much fun playing this guitar!

Brought it by my friends house to do a quick take. I wish my chops were better, but I thought I'd share a quick recording. I haven't learned all of the song, but I'm getting there!

Here is the Kostal OM after only 4 and a half months!

long time no post! I've been busy with transitioning a new job, putting a house on the market, selling it, searching for a new home, going through a few bidding wars, locking a house down, packing up the old one, moving and then some.....

But a Brazilian Merrill OM came by to say hello the other day and it was fun playing it side by side by the modern Brazilian Kostal OM. Lets just say I still have another Kostal coming

Right now, we are leaning toward the jumbo, unless something else catches my eye!

A quick pic of the Brazilian OMs side by side

Oh wow! Just caught up with this! Many congratulations again too on your other arrival!

I'm secretly hoping there might be a certain special low end thing going on if you go with a jumbo, but Jason's a big and well trained man - I'm not sure either of us are up to twisting his arm, even in concert. I guess we'll just have to see!

Thanks Dan! I've been a little busy because Christmas came early for us!

Little Asher Song was due on Christmas Eve but he decided he wanted to come three weeks early!

Here he is with the Kostal OM! I picked this guitar to play for him for the very first time. It's amazing to think that the very first music he hears (on this side of the womb) is from a world class luthier built guitar!

Thanks George! Asher is our first child and we are in our forties. We are so glad he came to us, but now comes the hard part!

I have found myself playing more guitar than ever since this little one is here. He seems to fall asleep to the playing

Happy New Year!

I'm bringing this thread back from a while because I have been speaking to Jason about my third Kostal. 2019 is going to be a wonderful year and we have an exciting build in the works! Next year will be extremely special because we will have a new addition to our family. The third Kostal will be a special birth year guitar for our new daughter!

This Brazilian OM has been very special and has surprised me in so many ways. It has opened up tremendously and is one of the best gutiars I have ever played. Here is a quick video to show how it has opened up. The song is a piece I wrote for my son, Asher. The recording has no effects:

I also want to announce that I will have my first international commission next year as well. You can check that out on this thread:
https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=523232

This guitar thread has been a fun ride and I can't wait for Kostal #3
