Default Help Please - Fishman LB Mini-Charge

I have just bought a new Fishman Loudbox - Mini Charge.

I simply want to know for sure, what type of re-chargeable battery is installed, and wether it is okay to re-charge the battery at any time during use, (the discharge cycle). I bought the amp because I liked the sound and portability and naturally assumed this information would be readily available.........not so!

The dealer did not know, the Fishman distributor here in the UK was equally uninformed, the user guide does not have any of this information and Fishman.com have not replied to my support enquiry!!

Does anyone please have a definitive answer to these questions (battery type and best re-charging practice).

Many thanks for looking, hope you can help..........Brian.

I have had mine a little over a year.

I use mine when I need it.

When I get home I put it on charge.

The next day I unplug it till next time.

So far no issues.

Don't over think it just enjoy it. Todays batteries don't have a "memory".

I missed that, that's strange b/c a few times I've had questions about their products I use, I've gotten a response within a few days.

The Loudbox Charge has a SLA (sealed lead acid) battery which I confirmed with Fishman. I imagine it is an AGM (applied glass mat) type which is relatively robust to being fully discharged and still cheap and light (for an SLA). Most lead acid batteries are best left trickle charged between major usage and I imagine the battery charger built into the Loudbox does exactly that (because these things are cheap ICs optimized for the particular battery chemistry and to do it wrong would be harder and more expensive). I would leave the amp plugged in all the time and let the internal charger make the decisions.

One advantage of an SLA battery is the charger and the battery can be fully independent (no need to see the connections between the cells in the battery as almost any lithium ion solution would require). A replacement SLA battery in the future won't be a tough do-it-yourself project (at least as this retired EE sees it).

Thank you kindly sir, that is what I call definitive answer!
