I just read that (drum roll please) multiple cups of coffee will make you live longer — maybe.

I have my own personal coffee pot and burr grinder in my office. I make 2/3 of a pot everyday. I even have a brand that i have been drinking for years and have hardly wavered, World Market Whole Bean Sumatra. My wife get coupons from them and buys the stuff for me a case at time. I dont get Keurig thing. It takes less than 5 mins to grind beans, rinse and fill the carafe, pour water into coffee maker, drop in a paper filter & grounds and turn the pot on. I routinely work 10-16 hours a day and do not find this an inconvenience. And my office smells like fresh brewed coffee. It helps mask the smell of old man and farts.

I LOVE coffee..........
I have a Cuisinart 12 cup coffeemaker (not boutique expensive) that has two mandatory requirements for me; bean grinder and thermal carafe (wonderful, coffee stays warm all morning and isn't continue to cook on a hot plate). And, Addison Coffee Roasters is five minutes away with a huge global selection in their retail room. I try to buy something different every time I go, different beans (becoming a peaberry fan), different roasts. Having a cup of "India Balekola Estate" as I type, nice, tomorrow something from Kenya........

I hope its good for me. Another recent thread convinced me to buy a stainless steel pour over thing so now my coffee is twice as strong as the Keurig I left behind! And yeah, I like it on hot days!

Coffee is actually toxic - that why you get that "hit" which is your body resisting the toxicity.
Tea is a herbal infusion and so whilst having some caffeine does not give you a hit so much as a wonderful flavour and is refreshing rather than stimulating.

Well, for the nonce, my conventional espresso machine, French press and Aeropress are not options for me: I am about to have extensive surgery on my L arm & wrist and now have fractures in my R arm--so any method that requires torque (portafilter locking/unlocking, steam knobs) or arm/hand pressure (well, I suppose I could operate the presses with my forehead) is out. Both my hands are currently "imprisoned" in splint-braces (and the L will be in a cast for a week before being transferred to a full-forearm rigid plastic brace), so it looks like it'll only be pourover, Keurig or Nespresso for me. (Providing I don't over-fill the pourover kettle to make it too heavy to lift).

The coffee pendulum seems to swing between "its going to kill you" and "its good for you".
Have several cups a day, usually a strong dark roast. Consumer alert.....Bought some Puroroast French Roast K-cups this week, on sale, and it was bad. Flavor was about the same as hot water.

I don't drink coffee but my mom did. She drank it morning noon and night. She'd have a cup before going to bed. Strong stuff I've been told. She past at 89.

Dirty little secret: "dark roast" beans are actually weaker than medium! The longer the roast, the more the beans' proteins and essential oils are replaced by carbon. (No coincidence that some people claimed Starbucks' coffees--all dark roast--used to taste like "sucking on the end of a burnt match"). So even though dark roast may taste stronger, bean for bean, it actually has less caffeine! In order to get the same amount of caffeine in a cup of dark roast, you need a higher ratio of coffee grounds to water.
Just polishing off a pour-over cup of Metropolis' Guatemalan--roasted six days ago.
