Default Thomas Fredholm D-28 (Sunburst)

Up for sale is a D-28 built earlier this year by Swedish master luthier Thomas Fredholm, who is perhaps best known for having built a D-18 and D-28 that Dan Tyminski used for many years on stage with Alison Krauss. He has also built instruments for Zac Brown, Andy Summers, and many other prominent touring artists.

Check out this video demo:

The sunburst is very dark, which certainly makes it unique. The tone is just awesome, very powerful, airy, and musical. It plays very easily as well. Old European Spruce top, beautiful Indian Rosewood back and sides, Waverly tuners, 1 ¾” nut width, ivoroid binding on the neck. Very thin French Polish finish, which is the most difficult finish to use but perhaps the most tonally rewarding. There is no pickguard, but I will include a dark tortoise pickguard in the storage compartment of the case. When the guitar was finished earlier this year, it became evident that there was an error in the placement of a few of the frets (a very unusual occurrence for Fredholm), so the builder replaced the fretboard to get the intonation perfect. There are various minor marks and dings due to the extremely thin finish, but nothing significant.

Comes with a black hardshell TKL case. The case isn’t a perfect fit for this guitar, but it should work fine if you don’t travel. If you do plan to travel with it, it would probably be best to get a custom-fit Calton or Hoffee anyway!

In EXC+ condition. Asking $SOLD.
