Johnny B Goode is about playing guitar. That's a good one
And one we can relate to: |

Tennessee Flat-top Box - Johnny Cash c1961, Rosanne Cash 1980s.
Fun to play with a nice solo chorus. Easy solo to teach to new players. |

Maybe not truly a song, but I like BB's story about Lucille.

Like a few others here, my favourite is The Guitar by Verlon Thompson and Guy Clark.
I especially like this version by Verlon. Guy Clark, may he rest in peace, was an absolute genius, but it's hard to imagine him playing the licks that are referenced in the song. Obviously that limitation doesn't apply to Verlon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Lkg7GsKQQ I wrote one about the last guitar listed in my sig. It's called Copy of a 'Burst. When my dad bought that guitar in 1982, I thought he was giving it to me. When I thanked him, he said, "It's MY guitar". I was confused at this cruel joke as he didn't play a lick, nor had I ever considered that he wanted to. He clarified, "It's my guitar, but I'm going to lend it to you. I want you to play it every day. If in a year, you're not playing MY guitar every day, I'm gonna SELL MY guitar. But, if you're playing it every day, I'm gonna GIVE you MY guitar". I've played every day since; I'm never gonna sell that guitar. My daddy bought a copy of a copy of a '59 Gibby 'burst He said son, if you play it every day then it's yours Well that poor old faded beater, haven't sold her 'cause she was my first Battered and bruised, we've both seen better days, still music seeps out of our pores We were starin' at the future and tryin' to make it sing Learning all the parts to Stairway, but still playin' it wrong Boys in a room with a blaster, and a couple of beers Sheddin' parts I'm still playin', if you know the words sing along It goes on for a couple more verses, but you get the gist of it.

Martin by Zac Brown is a very good one.
And I like the one I wrote pretty good because it's a true story.
