I'll check them out. I'm coming down in favour of the OMM-ST though I wish I knew what the addition of the + meant. I don't think it's electrics. According to YouTube "the "plus" means that it is the new 2018 model with Micarta fretboard and bridge." So what were they before 2018?

I wouldnt worry too much Mike about what the fretboard and bridge are/were made of on the OMM-ST. Enough to know its a nicely finished good fun to play instrument with a great tone for (relatively) not much money
We like to be cautious sight unseen, but you wont go wrong with this one if you like a wider nut. Credit to Sigma for offering choice of dimensions at this sort of budget. (Im not positive but I think the + means no use of Rosewood which is now subject to regulation?. Someone here will know for sure though) Last edited by NotveryGood; 09-28-2020 at 02:04 AM. |

Yes, indeed. I think I'm probably going to go for it. I'm just very cautious having been burned. I bought my Eastman on-line and it was supposed to be a 1 3/4" nut but it certainly wasn't. And the bridge spacing is a paltry 53.5mm. I can play just fingerstyle on it but there isn't much room so to get a 1 3/4" nut AND a 57mm bridge spacing would be really good.

Is that the same model, the OMM-ST?

Bit of a coincidence, I recently bought an Eastman E1Om (which actually Im delighted with) as I too trip over myself with narrow string spacing. As I think I mentioned ,the Sigma is on loan to a friend so I cant do a side by side comparison for you, but I do know the Sigma does/did appear to have more space for playing. But you should have the option to return it if not completely happy?

I liked the shorter scale on the Eastman therefore the more relaxed strings and shorter reach but not the spacing. If I had the extra money I would go for the Guild M-140 which has solid woods, short scale and the 1 3/4" 57mm measurements. As for returning the Eastman it's a long story!! The Sigma's are said to have low profile necks so I'm hoping they are not as chunky as the Eastman necks. Can you recall?

No. When bought it was just the 000 18. I don't know if the model name has changed since.

No problem. My Sigma is my living room guitar, always out on a stand. It gets played a lot more than my more expensive guitars which spend most of their lives in cases (I've got 4 kids, so leaving expensive guitars out is a bit risky).
The Sigma punches well above it's weight. I can't envisage selling it. It has a few dings and scratches and has been filled with Lego on a couple of occasions. |

Probably the user that started the topic has already bought the guitar.
Anyway I own a Sigma 000M-18+ and the dimensions are: Nut width 1 3/4 (44.5mm); scale 25.4 (645mm), string width at the bridge 2 1/4 (57mm). It is a very lovely-sounding guitar. I would like it had a thicker (chunky) neck, but I start to be acquainted do it. |

I didn't end up buying it, my issue being the longer scale when I prefer a short scale. I've been looking at the Auden Neo Emily Rose and the Guild M-140 which both have wider string spacing at the bridge, 59mm and 57mm respectively. Would you mind telling me what the string spacing at the nut is? Thanks.

Hi, no problem. The string spacing at the nut is 39.4 mm more or less 1.55 inches. |

Wow! That's great. The guitar has so much going for it. I wonder whether I could manage with the longer scale length.
